Eva Mae Turns 1

The Day Eva Mae was Born!

Today is Eva Mae's first birthday! I can't believe that a year ago yesterday Dustin and I were enjoying dinner with some friends and at the time I had no idea that I was in labor let alone having contractions. I just didn't feel like eating, soup was what I ended up having for dinner, plus every once and a while my stomach would get tight. That I thought was just the Braxton Hicks, which I had been having for a few weeks prior. The funny part was, where we were eating was literally right next to our hospital. After dinner, Dustin and I decided that we should stop off at the store so Dustin could get some drinks to go into his "Daddy Bag." While I was waiting in the car I kept getting this uncomfortable sensations. Then some light cramping. So I'm texting him to hurry up! So we get home and I tell him whats going on. He says to me that I need to sit down and we will time what now I'm assuming are contractions. So I sit down and wait for my stomach to feel tight and then release...well come to find out it was happening every minute and half to a minute. I then tell him I need to use the restroom..I will keep that to myself it's TMI for everyone else...But I scream to Dustin saying, "IT'S TIME TO GO!" He yells back, "ARE YOU SURE?!" I go, "YES I'M SURE!!" So we get into the car and the drive is pretty much a blur! I remember driving past the mall and getting off the freeway. The next thing I know is we are at the front desk and I can barely talk to tell them that I am in labor! So they put me in a room, hook me up to machines, check everything! They confirm that I am in fact in labor....2 cm dialated already! So Dustin makes the phone calls to our family and friends! My mom, and sisters were in the room with us..which was nice because it helped take my mind off the contractions...which I went drug free for about 4 hours until my contractions were literally on top of each other and I got stuck in the bathroom and couldn't walk! So I said NOPE I'm done I want the epidural! I am SO happy that I did! I was able to rest a little bit and enjoy the last part with Dustin. Then my Doctor was on call at 7:00am came in to check on me...by 9:10am I was pushing and at 9:57am Eva Mae was born! March 25th, 2011, 7lbs 7oz, 20 1/4 inches long! Word's can't even describe the joy and happiness that came over me! My first thought when I saw her was HOW BEAUTIFUL she was! I was so glad that my sister Kelly and Dustin could be there for that special moment! I will remember that for the rest of my life!

So today we had a small party to celebrate our STILL ( much more ) Beautiful Eva Mae's birthday!
The Birthday Girl!!

Enjoying some lunch before her cup cake!

Eva Mae's very first Cup Cake! Strawberries and Cream!

She enjoyed the frosting more than she enjoyed the cupcake!

Mommy was more excited about her getting new Sparkly Red Toms than Eva Mae was! She just wanted to chew on them!

Hurray for building blocks from Nana!!

A little catching up...Pictures included...

Happy St.Patricks Day!! We went to a baby shower for a friend of mine. It sadly was cold, windy and rainy!! Eva Mae of course would NOT sit in our laps...She had to up and walking around ...the WHOLE time.

I made my friend a diaper cake! It had a purple tutu with a matching purple felt rose headband and rose clip! I am VERY excited on how it turned out!

I recieved on order through So Dainty, where the customer wanted a New York Yankees tutu with matching headband...I am very excited about this piece!
This is the head band which is made to fit a 2 month old
This is the whole piece...front view
This is the back of the tutu...
This flower is detachable...it can be placed anywhere on the tutu or it can be worn on your head

Long Day..

I should be cleaning up our bedroom right now...but instead I am choosing to write here...I have made my tea and Eva Mae is FINALLY down for a nap. There is no noise in our house right now except for the windchimes outside, me clicking away on the key board, the ocean waves of Eva Mae's sound machine and the soft humming of the computer....I like it. A lot. Sometimes after a battle of a day (which is far from over considering it's only 2:18pm)....it's nice to just sit in silence. I don't get to have silence anymore. Dustin turns the tv on the second he gets home, he watches the news in the morning, Eva Mae's toys are constantly making some kind of noise, music that I will have playing, Eva Mae crying or talking, me talking, Dustin talking...Noise is EVERYWHERE all the time here....It can get very overwhelming...I'm sure MANY moms would agree with me on that. The battle of Eva Mae not wanting to nap this morning is exhausting...It's funny how when she doesn't take one how much you realize HOW MUCH you really do need her to nap in the morning!

This weekend was a VERY busy weekend. 3 birthday parties, I had to nanny and I had to start making Eva Mae's invitations so I can send them out this week! The Very Hungry Caterpillar party that I "worked" was a TON of fun! The mom (Tasha) had done such a FABULOUS job decorating! I was jealous! I kept telling Dustin that I hope Eva Mae's party will look as good as this! She had tons of food, fun games, and prizes plus ME! I made 25 hair clips for the little girls at the party!

Eva Mae was my little model that day too showing off a set of Purple Felt Flowers!

Bubbles!

Eva Mae and I sitting outside our apartment blowing bubbles! Dustin took this picture...Eva Mae was SO fascinated by them! At one point Dustin was holding her and I was blowing them towards her face and all of the sudden she says, "Bubbles!" Dustin and I looked at each other in TOTAL shock and amazement! She just looked at the both of us and smiled...We surely have one SMART little cookie on our hands...I LOVE it : )

I was also able to finish Eva Mae's outfit for her party! All that's missing is her black onesie with her ladybug/happy 1st birthday iron on...

Well that's it for tonight! I am off to bed

Oh the EXCITMENT!

So AGAIN I am the only one again...only because I got TOTALLY sucked into making a "Like" page for So Dainty on Facebook! I feel so offical now : ) Not to mention I just recieved 2 tutu orders AND 1 headband AND 1 clip order!!! EEEKKK! I am getting more and MORE thrilled at how well this is turning out for me! I have barely needed to advertise and the amount of customers I have been getting plus with word of mouth! I could start jumping up and down!!!

On a side note...Dustin is FINALLY home! Hurray! We were able to go to dinner with our really good friend and her cousin. Which was a very nice treat. We do have a VERY busy weekend though. Tomorrow I have to finish and start a bunch of So Dainty projects, Saturday afternoon is my little cousins birthday, then that night I have to go nanny. Sunday Morning I am the "Crafter" for a The Very hungry Caterpillar themed party...I will be making felt fruit clips (Pictures to come)....then right after that we are going to ANOTHER birthday party for a friend of our families....PLUS in ALL the madness I have to somehow start my conferences for at the preschool! YIKES! I have a feeling that my Herbalife Tea will be in FULL force this weekend!

Little Miss Eva Mae is now saying "Cat" and "Kitty Cat" as well as "Hot" and "Hi" more! It Still blows me away when I hear her talk...17 more days til she is 1...Oh how time flys..

No Break.

I am exhausted...Dustin left for Arizona again this morning for work. It's amazing how even just 30 mins of him watching her when he gets home makes a difference! No breaks today. Except nap time, but during her morning nap I was busy working on orders for So Dainty and cleaning up for Kasey ( MOMS of Orange County.) Her 2nd nap was only 45 mins because after Kasey left I had an Herbalife Weight Loss Challenge meeting...therefore the only things I was able to do was answer a couple emails, grab a quick snack and pack the diaper bag. Boy how I hate when Dustin leaves for work trips....Thursday can't be here soon enough...

On the bright side Eva Mae signed and said "No More" SUPER clear this morning! I couldn't believe it! I think I may burst into tears the first time she really starts talking. I almost did this morning after I heard that.

20 more days until she is 1! How time flys!! With every new day she becomes more and more amazing! She is constanly learning, and moving. I am in "Awe" of her! We finally put in a baby gate seperating the living area from the kitchen area. Well little miss smarty pants learned how to lift the latch and open the gate door!!! Dustin and I were in complete shock! LUCKILY, there is ANOTHER switch that clicks onto the latch so she can't open it herself. However, I now have to use two hands to open the gate which is frustrating sometimes...I'm sure I will get used to it...eventually...

Tomorrow I am FINALLY getting my taxes done! I hope I get a good amount back, even though anything at this point would be great. Dustin and I would like to put a chunk of it into our "Wedding Fund," as well as, opening a savings account for Eva Mae. This way on birthdays, holidays and tax returns we can add a little here and there just so she has something when she goes off to college...we're hoping...or if she'd like to travel!

Well I should probably be off to bed. 6:15am comes very fast these days...

Walking Machine..

Every time I see Eva Mae get up and start walking around I still get blown away! With only 23 days until her first birthday I feel like she is already such  a big girl! I'm curious AND excited to see what this next year will bring.
