Under appreciated?

Earlier today a friend of mine posted on facebook asking when will she ever be acknoledged for the many things she does as a mom and as a wife.

This made me think...How much are we, (stay at home moms) under appreciated!?

We work just as much, just as hard and just as long as any 9 to 5 job. It is just as if not more demanding as well. We don't get paid for cooking, cleaning, being a nurse, a personal assistant, and so on. The point is we don't claim we are better than anyone who works a 9 to 5 jobs or any type of job for that matter. I do think we deserve a little bit of credit for what we do, deal with and put up with. As girlfriends, fiances, and wives we are there for our significant others as much as humanly possible. We love them with all our hearts. We care for them like no one else does. We understand that some people believe that just because we have children and have chosen to stay at home that there is something wrong with that. What is so wrong about wanting to love and be there for you child? Watching their first steps, seeing how much they have accomplished? Why would we want to miss those firsts? Why wouldn't we want to be apart of such an amazing experience if given that chance and opportunity!?

We do so much each and every day. Some days may be the same, and other may be different. We are constantly going! So PLEASE before you judge or critize. Before you say our job is easy and ask why we deserve a "Good Job," ask us what it is that we do ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. Then MAYBE you'll think differently. I wouldn't change my decision to be a stay at home mom for anything is this world!

She is the reason.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thankfully Dustin got off work early and didn't receive ANY service calls! We were able to go out to dinner with Eva Mae to Woody's Diner right by our house. We LOVED that it wasn't busy and were able to sit down right away. Eva Mae being the little Ham that she is was smiling away as an elderly couple came in. The woman walks over and says to Eva Mae, " Aren't you just the cutest little girl I've ever seen!" Eva Mae gives a big toothy grin, which in turn made the woman giggle and reply, " And my my look at all those beautiful teeth! She must be what 2? 2 1/2?" I said to her, "Actually she's not even 1 yet. She's only 10 and a half months." The woman smiled and said, "You are going to have your hands full with this one, and when she starts talking ooooh boy!" He husband whispered to her lets go, get out of their space. I smiled and we all said goodbye. Now throughout the dinner Eva Mae was smiling at the woman and she was smiling and waving back at Eva Mae. It was just SO cute! Well the elderly couple had finished their meal and walked over to the counter to pay for their meal. To their surprise the waitress tells them that a gentleman who had been sitting by himself next to them paid for their meal, the tip as well as a sundae for them to share. The couple were so shocked and surprised! They kept asking who the man was and why he would do that. The waitress said that the message he left was, " Happy Valentine's Day and enjoy yourselves."

Dustin and I were so glad to have been able to witness such an act of kindness! Dustin had even said that it's nice to know that there are people in this world still who perform such selfless acts for complete strangers. I could have cried it was such a wonderful moment! It just made our night that much better!!

Dustin got me this BEAUTIFUL flowers! I LOVE the Orchids!

I gave Dustin these flowers : )

Crafty!

So Dainty has become a pretty big part of my life...I LOVE creating pretty little things knowing that they will be worn on some pretty little girl! I FIANLLY started and finished Eva Mae's Valentine's Day tutu!
I've been told by some friends on my So Dainty page that I need to ditch the paper towel roll and get an actual stand to model my tutus...problem is they are SO expensive! I'm going to have to track one down via craigslist or ebay....I also finished my order of 15 custom hair clips! Here's a peek at a few that I made...

I made a few headbands FINALLY for Eva Mae! All of her headbands that either I made or she's recieved as gifts are getting too small and roll off her head. I can't wait to start working on her lady bug tutu and headband! I've already got 98% of her wings finished. I'm having a hard time trying to find black satin ribbon without having to order it online.

I'm going start putting together felt flowers for So Dainty too! I'm pretty excited about those! I'm just hoping everyone else will too : )

Well off I go to do a little crafting! I hope everyone has a Fabulous day!

Lunch turned into a mess! Boy it was fun though!

The End result of a FUN lunch time of feeding ourselves!

Eva Mae took 2 BIG GIRL steps yesterday!! Her Daddy and I were screaming and clapping with excitment! We are SO glad we got it on video!!! I'm sure she will be walking by her first birthday which is now just around the corner!! We will be baby proofing the house like CRAZY!!! EEEKK one Happy Momma!!!

A rough day....

Today was filled with an extremely large amount of stressful situations.
Eva Mae didn't nap but 45 mins today.
She was SUPER clingy.
Her melts downs were RIDICULOUS!
I managed to get NOTHING done except a 2 minute shower.
I cleaned and disenfected Eva Mae's changing table and bed because she has learned to undo her diaper as well as having a blow out...yes TMI...
I gave her 2 baths because of the above statement.
She refused to eat 75% of the foods I made for her today.

The Up sides of today:
She is REALLY hard to stay upset at.
We found out she LOVES eggplant.
Her smile is SUPER contagious!
I got her to FINALLY go to sleep tonight : )

This whole teething thing...ya it's possibly the worst thing EVER! I'm hoping to see more teeth soon...

A glass of wine is JUST what I needed! I'm EXHAUSTED from today!! I think I earned about 10 gold stars on my Mommy chart : )
